With all of the commotion going on in the past few months, it’s been really important for me to keep my body AND mind in shape. New fitness routines have been my saving grace, and recently I’ve gotten into Yoga, which has been pretty fun since I have a strong dance background. Someone once told me that they strongly believed that people who do yoga are more kind. I believe this is because you are working on connecting with yourself and continuously reaching for self-improvement which tends to build confidence.

I’ve been travelling A LOT lately, and that really takes a toll on the ‘ol system, so Yoga has been a super effective way to keep myself in shape while also giving my head a little break and as tacky as it sounds, keep me grounded. It’s become much needed me time that keeps me energized, refreshed and ready to tackle those wedding plans!

If you don’t have a full hour to dedicate to yoga, take 10 – 15 minutes after your work out to do the classic yoga poses to stretch your muscles. I promise that you won’t be as sore the next day and it is the perfect transition between a good work out and the next part of your day! Ladies, think lean and tone. The more you stretch, the leaner you will be!

When it comes to namastaying fit (see what I did there?), I pretty much live in these yoga pants. In my previous fitness post a lot of people asked me where I got these from, they’re Lululemon (Go Canada!). These ones are special to me because Shawn bought them for me as a birthday present, and he’s quite pleased with himself that everyone likes them as much as he does. He actually said that ever since he’s given them to me, I haven’t taken them off… so I’m not kidding when I say I literally live in these puppies.

Yogatta get yourself a good pair, trust me on that one (I’m on fire with these puns today).

    Lol, cute puns! I’m recently getting into the fitness routine. After two kids and passing the 30 mark (32 now) the body is starting change in ways I’m not liking. So I started running and Zumba. Zumba is so damn fun!!! Running is a serious pain because I hate it so much, but I am feeling a difference. Keep it up girl! Wish you and the future Hubsy and happy life as we say, “Insha’Allah” (God willing).

  6. I just started getting into yoga as part of my marathon training and I LOVE it. It’s a great supplemental workout to keep your muscles loose, but I can also see how those instructors have such rock hard bods… it’s a lot harder than it looks!

    Wow! You are simply amazing! I too think Yoga is a great way to center oneself and not only be kind to others, but most importantly be kind to oneself.

    With that said Kudos to you for keeping it real on the Bachelorette!! I respect you for being true to yourself throughout the entire show. It’s hard enough dating and to do it in front of millions – well let’s just say that can be a little challenging. I commend you for putting your feelings aside about what people around the world thought AND for keeping your feelings on point on what mattered the most at the time – finding your life partner!     I find it so hard to find time to devote to working out and staying healthy not just physically but emotionally as well. I think yoga helps with that and finding the right clothes to do that can make all the difference. I like what you said about people doing yoga being more kind. I think doing yoga just puts you in a good place mentally and emotionally!
