We all know I’m a little jet setter, so I thought it would be fun to share my top 5 places I’d travel to in a heartbeat!

1. Antiparos, Greece

Antiparos is one of Greece’s hidden gems. I follow my friend and former bachelorette, Andi, on Snapchat and she recently visited this island. I immediately fell in love. It went straight to the top of my “places to visit” list. Antiparos is secluded, which means that it is peaceful and quiet. Something I love. I’m 31 and engaged now. My Vegas days are over. All I want is to explore romantic, peaceful getaways with my guy! Antiparos has golden sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, fresh and green landscapes, and is filled with pure, natural beauty. The village has stone paved streets and the homes look stunning. It’s just a beautiful island and I have ALWAYS wanted to go to Greece. I mean, just Google some photos. SOLD.

2. Sydney, Australia

Shawn and I have talked a lot about heading to Sydney. Not only does it look breathtakingly beautiful but the people seem SO laid back. The lifestyle there just screams beaches and beers. Who wouldn’t want to get down with that? There’s the Harbour, the famous Bondi Beach, Blue Mountains and let’s be honest – pub hopping! Shawn and I LOVE animals and we’ve heard that there’s an incredible zoo there as well. The other night, while playing “heads up”, I learned that I have a terrible Australian accent. I wouldn’t dare try it out on the Aussies.

3. New Orleans, USA

Okay, I know I’ve said my Vegas days are over…BUT…NEW ORLEANS? Come on. I’ve never been, but I know I would love it. Shawn and I could have fun in a shoebox, but just imagine the kind of Snaps you’d get if we were to travel to New Orleans for Mardi Gras! Everything seems so “in your face” and I’ve heard that the bartenders can make a mean mint julep. The festivals get me fired up just thinking about them. We love live music, so a good jazz band is right up our alley. One of my favorite things to do is to try new food and find the best hole in the wall restaurants. Creole cuisine? Don’t mind if I do!

4. Denver, Colorado

I feel like it’s very underrated by people who haven’t been, but I love the sound of it. I grew up in snowy Alberta and moved to BC because I love the mountains. I feel like I’m in a happy place when I think of ski-in-ski-out resorts, snowboarding all day, stopping on the hill for a Bailey’s and coffee and finishing off the night with games and a dip in the hot tub. I Colorado is filled with fun outdoor activities that would take me back to my childhood. There is something comforting about the snow and being curled up with Shawn in a cabin with the fireplace going. Sign me up.

5. Venice, Italy

Wine, siestas, pasta, canals, lagoons, romance, shall I go on? Italians seem to know what’s up. I feel like they’d put red wine in their cereal and I’m not above that. I want to travel there, have dinner with older, happily married Italian couples and listen to their stories. I want to sip red wine on a cobblestone street by the water and watch little boats go by. And after that, do as the Italians do, nap, wake up, and find one of those hole in the wall restaurants where they make pasta and sauce from scratch. I would shop all the little kiosks with knock off bags (one thing that I’m not really into are name brands, I will never understand spending money on that stuff). Italians know how to live life. They know what’s important, and it’s not Instagram likes, or how many views your Snap story gets. It’s the stories of love, family and history. They enjoy the moment, they enjoy life and love. THAT’S IT, I’M BOOKING MY TICKET.

All this travel talk and I’ll happily put myself in debt for it. I could go on and on and tell you of the other places I’d want to travel to one day. Vienna, South Africa, the Bahamas, Egypt. The list goes on. Dublin is on there too, but I was lucky enough to spend 3 weeks there. I highly recommend visiting.

What is your favorite place to visit and where would you jet off to in a heartbeat?! I wanna know!!

  1. Anne says:

You would love Steamboat Springs, CO! Ski in and out, fireplaces, good food, and you feel like you’re in a quaint little snowglobe. Also, Aspen is awesome 👌🏻

  2. Natalie says:

One of my FAVORITE places to jet-set to is Seattle, WA! Not only do I have a bunch of family in and around the city, but I love all the different aspects it has to offer! If you haven’t been yet, you need to go ASAP.

I am jet-setting to Vancouver in TWO WEEKS! I can’t wait. What are your recommended MUST see’s, do’s, and eat’s?

If you and Shawn are ever looking for a great tropical getaway, I suggest Punta Cana, Dominican Republic! I went for a week back in November (2015) and it was incredible. I stayed at an all-inclusive resort called The Majestic Elegance, and it was exactly that – majestic AND elegant! We zip-lined, swam with sharks, kissed a stingray, and got massages. It’s a must.

Lastly, I will be jet-setting to New York City in December! I have never been, but have ALWAYS wanted to go! I don’t think I could live in that city, but I am definitely looking forward to experiencing it for ALL that it has to offer.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and staying so true to yourself. You rock!

  3. Hannah Olsen says:

I’ve had the privalage to go to Costa Rica twice! Planning my 3rd trip soon. It is absolutely beautiful! The food, the people, the culture, the country side, city, Rain Forrest everything is stunning! So much fun! I’m talking
absolute paradise. You won’t want to wave!
The places you listed are all on my list to visit!
Hope you and Shawn are doing great!
    ~Hannah Olsen

  4. Kara says:

Heading to New Orleans for the first time in a couple weeks. Was so excited to see this on your list. Nashville is another city I would like to head to soon. My friend also say Vancouver is one of the most amazing places she has ever seen and after seeing some of your photos that is definitely somewhere I would like to head to soon!

  5. Kaitlyn Olson says:

Venice is a must! So beautiful. I recommend “getting lost” and walking around the little alleys. You’ll be surprised at what you find!

Denmark. Anywhere in Denmark. I recently studied in DK for 2 months and got to travel around and it is SO awesome. The people there are unbelievably nice, and don’t worry, they all speak English. Hands down the best people and cities.

  6. Tara says:

Love your list! You need to check out New Orleans STAT! But most importantly, go to the hidden gem of Italy, Cinque Terre! It consists of 5 small towns along the coast with cobblestone streets and amazing cafes, restaurants, and shops. Colorful houses, amazing cliffs and awesome beaches too! Even more amazing than Venice! Google it! 😉

  7. Roni says:

I would definitely recommend spending time in Florence over Venice. Venice is incredible for a day trip- a quick gondola ride, some Bellini, and a look at their Murano glass, but that’s it! Florence has the most amazing night life, way more amazing restaurants and people, tons of rich history, actually way more access to awesome marketplaces than Venice, insane steer performers and art that’s seriously jaw dropping. I studied abroad their this summer and it was the best experience of my life!

  8. Geleen says:

I would go to Charleston, SC! I went once for a work trip and fell in love with it! From the large southern mansions by the water, where dolphins play, to the cute shops and amazing southern food.

Abroad, hands down Rome is my home. Lived there studying abroad and always itching to go back.

  9. Hillary says:

You should check out Vermont in the fall 🙂 the foliage is amazing! I’ve been lucky enough to live here my whole life, except for a summer in Kodiak, Alaska. WHICH you should also visit!!!! It’s chillier than Hawaii but some of the beaches and mountains look very similar!!!

  10. Kristen says:

You would love New Orleans! It’s such an amazing place. My husband and I had a hankering to get to Spain. I also really want to visit Alaska and Banaff.

  11. Cassie says:

Look up Can Mora de Montalt in Barcelona… If you two want some place quiet, peaceful and memorable. We spent some time there on our honeymoon and it is easily one of our most favorites, even with all of the European cities we visited. Another absolutely beautiful and enchanting place is Villefranche in southern France. Look them up! You might find out something about them that the two of you will love! 💕 Barcelona definitely has night life like no place we’ve ever been! Perhaps go when we did… During La Merce!

  12. Wandering Girl says:

Hong Kong, a perfect combination of west meets east. Antigua (Guatemala), the best preserved colonial city in Central or South America. And CapeTown, wine/mountains/sushi etc.

  13. Carolyn says:

Always fun to read your blog. Australia is definitely on my list too. I would add Peru in South America, a visit to the Incan ruins, Amazons. This type of trip, something always goes wrong but it’s part of the adventure! The locals were very kind and I made sure to be appreciative. And in some ways it’s like time travel because some parts are like the 1950’s, some modern and some like the sixteenth century.
I’ve always wanted to combine travel with charity work, and this is for sure on my list too.

I couldn’t agree more with what you say about Ig likes, views or even number of following. None of that matters, it’s sort of a high-school mentality. What matters is to do what you believe in.
Thanks for always spreading the love!

  14. Linah says:

Germany and Scotland are high on my list. Tanzania, Ethiopia and New Zealand are also places I’m quite keen to travel to in the near future.
Thanks for being such a wonderful ball of sunshine and honesty. Truly love what you and Shawn have☺

  15. David Hopkyn-Rees says:

Hi Kaitlin, if your contemplating going to Sydney, why not take a trip across the ditch and take in all that New Zealand has to offer. Although I reside in the North Island, the South Island scenery is far more dramatic. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, you’d be well catered for.

  16. Danielle says:

Kaitlyn!! I absolutely adore you, so I had to leave a comment. I’m going to Sydney in a little more than 2 weeks! Follow my blog and insta for updates if you’re interested in seeing pics! hippieseoul on insta and hippieseoul.com for the blog.

  17. Brooke Adams says:
